Anna Leontieva’s thesis defence took place on the 13th February 2023. The dissertation entitled “Strategies of prosecution and defence in judicial discourse from multimodal perspective” was supervised by Pr. Olga Iriskhanova.
Our colleague applied multimodal approach to the analysis of strategies and techniques used by speakers in judicial argumentation which can help broaden the understanding of the nature of nonverbal human behaviour and make a contribution to the theory of argumentation and thus to the general theory of communication.
Members of the Dissertation Council and guests acknowledged relevance and originality of the research and also its contribution to cognitive linguistics.
