Work on a new project “Verbal and co-verbal behaviour under cognitive pressure: Analyses of speech, gesture, and eye gaze” (grant №19-18-00357) is now in progress. In the project we approach the phenomena of verbal and co-verbal behaviour of speakers in contexts of intense cognitive pressure (during simultaneous interpreting). This spring our team has carried out the first series of experiments, during which we filmed interpreters’ speech and behaviour in a booth during 10-minute interpreting sessions (from Russian to English and vice versa).
